Back to Bassics: Donnie Dubson - Monday Is The New Sunday
"Back to Bassics" is all about music that influenced my musical taste or came out a while ago and deserves to be in the spotlight once again.
We start off with an LP that came out in 2011 on Fokuz Recordings. I discovered "Monday Is The New Sunday" only this week, because it was recommended to me by Sasha - the boss of JUR Records - while I was looking for vinyl in his store. The first thing that caught my eye was the artwork and the bright colour of the cover. Yes, I'm a sucker for cool cover designs. However, when I put on the headphones and started listening, the true beauty of the LP was revealed: 8 amazing tracks that took me to liquid heaven and back. I knew that I had to have it in my collection. I've listened to it countless times in the past few days and I can't get enough.
Of course I googled Donnie Dubson, because I wanted to know more about him and his upcoming releases. Unfortunately, he doesn't produce Drum & Bass anymore. Let's hope that he'll return one day to provide us with more of these wonderful liquid tunes.
I hope you enjoy listening to "Monday Is The New Sunday" as much as I do. Let me know what your "Back to Bassics" choices would be in the comment section below.
